ISLACALIFA Single Malt Whiskey

ISLACALIFA is a California made single malt whiskey inspired by the 16th century novel "Las Sergas de Esplandián". According to the story, Califa was a warrior queen who led an army of fearless Black women, armed with weapons and armor forged entirely from gold. She and her warriors were accompanied by majestic and intimidating griffins. This illustration portrays the beginning of their epic battle against an army of Christian soldiers. Although the project did not reach final production due to changes in the bottle packaging, it was a collaboration I greatly enjoyed working on.
